Happy National Chicken Wing Day!
I gave myself a cheat day to celebrate my favorite national holiday.
Instead of giving you plain, fried chicken, I want to give you guys something ~jazzy~.
I made Honey Lime chicken wings. The combination of tangy lime with sweet honey taste A M A Z I N G with crispy chicken.
For Honey Lime Sauce:
1/3 cup of lime juice
3 tablespoons of honey
2 tablespoons of soy sauce
1 teaspoon of salt
1 teaspoon of white pepper
For the Fried Chicken:
2 pounds of chicken wings
2 cups of flour
2 cups of vegetable oil
4 tablespoons of paprika
4 tablespoons of onion powder
4 tablespoons of garlic powder
2 tablespoon of chili lime seasoning
2 tablespoons of salt
2 tablespoons of black pepper
For the fried chicken:
So, I have a controversial way of making fried chicken, but it’s the best way, trust me.
In a large pot, add the chicken wings, add all of the seasonings(but only a half of a serving, so 2 tablespoons for paprika, 2 tablespoon of onion powder, etc.) & just enough water to cover the chicken. Bring to a boil, and let the chicken boil for about 15 minutes.
Then add the rest of the seasonings to the flour, mixing to combine. Toss the boiled chicken in the flour and fry the chicken in the vegetable oil until golden.
For the Honey Lime Sauce:
In a small sauce pan, combine 1/3 cup of lime juice, 3 tablespoons honey, 2 tablespoon of soy sauce & salt and pepper.
Bring to a boil for about 10 minutes. Then reduce the heat, allowing the sauce to thicken.
Toss the fried chicken in the sauce & enjoy!
