Bitches Be Basic: Simple Roasted Chicken.

Hey loves!

I’m here to give your new holiday-time meal! What is better than a flavorful, juicy chicken? Nothing? I thought so!

I flavored this roasted chicken with lemon, garlic, and herbs. Besides the amazing flavor, it was super easy to make!

Check out how I made this basic roasted chicken!

One Whole Chicken

Two whole garlic cloves

Three lemons

One & one half sticks of butter

One yellow onion

A handful of Rosemary

A handful of Thyme

I started off by patting the chicken dry with paper towel. I wanted to get the excess moisture off of the chicken so the skin can get crispy.

I then stuffed the chicken with the lemons, garlic, thyme, & rosemary. I also melted a stick of  butter & added 2 tablespoons of chopped garlic & a 1/4 cup of white cooking wine & used this to rub on the skin of the chicken.

Once the chicken is all flavored up, place it in a hot oven (400°) for 90 minutes. For the first 45 minutes,
I covered the pan the chicken was in with foil so the outside doesn’t cook faster than the inside.

After I took the foil off for the remaining 45 minutes, I basted the chicken with its juices & the butter/garlic mixture every 15 minutes.

Once the 90 minutes is up, I let the chicken rest for about 15-20 minutes before cutting into it.

If you cut into too soon,  the juices will run out & you’ll have a dry ass chicken, which is never good.

Wasn’t that easy?

Now you know how to make a simple, roasted chicken that can be the centerpiece of any special occasion meal.

Happy roasting! ❤
